Summer Collection of 1:1 Devices

    Do other 1:1 districts collect the devices from their students for summer storage? If so, how do you go about it? We've heard that districts who don't collect them have to repair about 20% of them after the summer break, leading to delays in instruction while screens, keyboards, etc. are being fixed. This is our first full year of 1:1 Chromebooks in Grades 1-12 for roughly 4,400 students. We have at least 3,000 devices that go home daily with our Gr. 4-12 students. Our quandary is should we collect them before summer vacation and if we do, where do we put them?
