Laptop Carry Cases

    Message # 4063767

Anyone have any suggestions for laptop carry cases for middle school students? We would love have ones that could be customized with our school logo.

Any input you can offer is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Corey Lennon

    Hi Corey,

Our experience with cases for our 1:1 program over the last two years has led us to the following:

    • Look for a case that includes the accessories pocket on the outside, not inside the same compartment as the laptop. Also, make sure that there is some kind of barrier/protection between that accessories pocket and the laptop compartment (i.e. hard corrugated plastic or something similar). We have been using Explorer case from MaxCases which has the accessories pocket on the inside of the case and we found that students would put pressure on the case, causing the power charger to be pressed into the lid of the Chromebook causing screen breakage. Next year we are choosing a different case.
    • Look for a case that has the option for the students to use the laptop/Chromebook while it is still securely strapped into the case. We discovered that many of our students used this feature "unpromted" and the students found it was easier to manage than constantly taking their Chromebook in and out of the case.
Based on these "lessons" we looked at "stay in case" options for next year from Belkin and Bump Armor. We were able to get review units from both companies to try out. Both were very good, but the Belkin was a little bit sturdier so that is what we chose for next year. The specific model that we have in our RFP is the Belkin Air Protect Always-On Case for 11" Chromebooks (Part #: B2A074-C00). If you buy in bulk, they are VERY aggressive with their pricing.

    Hope this help

    Hi Paul-

Is that a bag or a sleeve?  Do they imprint logos and is there a place for school id's?

We use Ipearl snap on covers which are decent price and decent protection. It is a plastic snap over cover so it is on the device at all times. You can also customize them with logos etc.
