    Hello All,

As a pilot for a possible 1to1 iPad program we are bringing in a cart of iPads.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a cart?  It will be used primarily in one building between two classrooms across the hall from each other (living in one primarily).

I'm looking to use Meraki to set these up, but I wasn't sure if I needed a Cart with "Syncing" capability or not.

    Matt

We have a Bretford ipad cart that we purchased through Apple - it is set up to be used with the Apple Configurator but it also acts as a charging station in a permanent location. We have used it with Aerohive Access Points and Casper Suite by Jamf Software.  Casper Suite works with the Apple Configurator to manage the ipads remotely (we do not have a 1:1 - the iPads are used in classrooms).

Hi, You will need to synch the iPads when setting up if you have Meraki but once they are synced then you can update iPads wirelessly. Hope that helps. Darshell

I've actually been testinga product called TabPilot.  It's a MDM that also allows some classroom mangement features (lockdown of iPads, etc)  through a Teacher Website (and eventually an iPad App).  It has some features of Meraki as well for App pushing as it integrates with VPP.

I've learned that if you buy the iPads from Apple EDU and have your school enrolled in the DEP program, there is a web interface, recently launched, that can place iPads in supervised mode.  It also lets you download a certificate from your Apple and MDM system so one can link the two together.
