Technology Integration in the Classroom with Digital Choice Boards and TRAILS

TRAILS is Trafera’s digital lesson library that has over 700 cross-curricular lesson plans and resources for K-12 teachers. Each lesson has at least one technology feature, such as a website, app or extension to help teachers deliver concepts in a transformative way that utilizes the technology in their classrooms. We will also share how we have incorporated some of these technology tools into digital choice boards to help transform teaching and learning by offering students more voice and choice.

STEM Success Matrix and Community-Based STEM Experience Ideas

The STEM Success Matrix is a tool designed to help teachers and administrators understand what a high-quality STEM lesson should look like and include. The matrix breaks down the different  components of STEM learning to guide teachers on what to look for when delivering or creating a STEM experience for their students.  STEM and project-based learning come together in this exciting, hands-on project that is appropriate for elementary through high school students. After teachers and students develop a strong understanding of what STEM learning and higher inquiry thinking is, students will work together to create ‘STEM Stops’ to be placed throughout the community in an effort to make connections to STEM in a variety of locations as well as ignite curiosity and encourage exploration.

AI in the Classroom: ChatGPT and AutoClassmate

Incorporating AI technology into teaching methods can enhance the learning experience for students and free up valuable time for teachers. This session will focus on two AI tools, ChatGPT and AutoClassmate, and how they can be used in the classroom.  With ChatGPT, teachers can create a more personalized learning experience for their students, helping them to better understand complex concepts and fostering a deeper engagement with the material. AutoClassmate, on the other hand, is an AI tool that can help teachers with grading and assessments, including help providing feedback.

Emerging STEM Technologies (Photon and ClassVR)

Photon is a cutting-edge coding robot that is appropriate for the youngest learners all the way up to high school students. Photon’s wide variety of free apps are device agnostic and range from the most basic introduction to programming that helps students understand programming in a fun, approachable way, all the way up to more advanced coding, such as Python, MakeCode and JavaScript. Photon includes a robust lesson plan library that opens the world of robotics and coding to teachers and shows them how to utilize and integrate coding across all subjects.

ClassVR is an incredible tool that brings innovative virtual reality lessons and experiences to students of all ages. It comes complete with hardware, software, curriculum-linked activities and lesson plans. ClassVR content is aligned directly to the curriculum and works in combination with the lessons to motivate, excite and encourage the imagination of students of all ages.
