RISTE Education Summer Institute......learning to communicate, collaborate, and create content all in one place with colleagues from around Rhode Island.

Join educators to share and learn digital skills to personalize learning for your students.  

Sessions will be facilitated by educators implementing technology in their classrooms.

Participants will learn how G-Suite and other tech tools are used in schools across Rhode Island and how to leverage those tools in their own schools.

Google Gab

Looking for some one-on-one time to further your understanding of G-Suite tools?  Bring your device and curiosity to the Learning Lab.

Playlist Creation

By giving students relevant learning activities and letting them choose which works best for them based on preference, learning style, and individual goals, students are motivated to take control of their own learning. Learn the “whys and hows” of playlist creation.

HyperDocs

HyperDocs, a transformative, interactive Google Doc replacing the worksheet method of delivering instruction, is the ultimate change agent in the blended learning classroom. With strong educational philosophies built into each one, HyperDocs have the potential to shift the way you instruct with technology. They are created by teachers and given to students to engage, educate, and inspire learning. It’s not about teaching technology, it’s about using the technology to TEACH.

Formative Assessment

A formative assessment or assignment is a tool teachers use to give feedback to students and/or guide their instruction.  Learn how to create assessments using Google tools and more.

Website Design

Websites are good for providing a static resource of information, frequent updates and communication, and collaborating on the creation of a reference site, among other things.  Learn how to create your own class site.

Creating Videos/Screencastify

Classroom video projects teach students to plan, organize, write, communicate, collaborate, and analyze. In fact, video has become so prolific that some colleges even include video submissions as part of their application process. As this media further matures, students may need to be able to express themselves as effectively through moving imagery as with the written word.
