We Have iPads in our Classroom, Now What?  Practical Ideas for K-3 Teachers

Elementary teachers wear many hats and teach multiple subjects. Technology could seem like just one more thing to add to a full plate. Spend a day questioning, learning, and preparing for a new school year that intentionally includes technology and digital media in meaningful ways.

Susan Sabella, a first grade teacher, and Leah Mitchell, a second grade teacher, will share how and why they have integrated iPads in their elementary classrooms.

This workshop is hands-on and participants are encouraged to bring an iPad with the following apps:

Kindergarten: Sago Mini Doodlecast and Book Creator

First Grade: Sago Mini Doodlecast, Book Creator, Word Wizard, DoInk Animation

Second & Third Grade: Book Creator, Pic Collage, Explain Everything, and Kid Blog

Participants will also spend time designing learning experiences that they can easily implement in the fall.
