Know of an opening in your school/district?

Spread the word to your RISTE colleagues.

Include as much information as you can (Schoolspring link, etc.)

I wanted to take this opportunity to share some news that will result in a job opportunity here in Smithfield. At last evening's School Committee meeting, I was appointed as the new principal for Old County Road School in Smithfield. I will be transitioning to this new position during the summer and I am incredibly excited to begin this new adventure.

We just posted our Director of Technology position on SchoolSpring, Job ID# 2917972. We've come a long way in regards to technology over the past 5 years, but we still have a lot of work to do. This position is a terrific opportunity to build upon what's happening and to work in a fabulous community.

Are there any districts or schools that are looking or are anticipating looking for a technician or systems administrator? If so, please let me know and I may have a resume for you to consider as a candidate.

    Thanks,

    Technology And Innovation Teacher

St. Michael’s Country Day School, a nonsectarian independent school in Newport RI, is hiring a Technology and Innovation teacher.

SMCDS is committed to Technology and Innovation. This summer, a brand new Technology and Innovation center is being built, as well as a dedicated film production room/green screen area. Each student in grades 4-8 is issued a Macbook Air, and in grade 3 an iPad. Younger students have access to laptop and iPad carts.

Our new Technology and Innovation teacher will be involved in curriculum design and have a weekly class with grades 2-8 as well as built in time to work with Preschool-1st grade as needed. Additionally, they would collaborate with and support teachers as they integrate technology and use new Innovation Lab with their students to enrich their classroom curriculum.

A BS degree and classroom experience is desirable. A knowledge of coding, robotics, video production and design thinking is a plus.

We are eager to add an experienced innovator to our team. If interested,  please send your CV to Jeff Day, Director of Technology – jday@smcds.org.
